From bingo slots to Christian preaching…

Will the recently closed Gala Bingo Hall in Upper Norwood be transformed from a bingo slots heaven to an evangelistic church?

This is, at least the, the intention of the KICC Evangelical Church, who is planning to transfer their current home in Wimbledon to the recently made vacant location. However, residents in the area seem very unhappy with these plans, and have already collected 5000 signatures on a petition objecting that as an Evangelistic church is far from what they have in mind as a replacement to their neighborhood bingo club,  even though the KICC said they plan to use the club as a community center. It’s hard to believe you’ll find bingo slots games there…

The recent club closing is one of many bingo halls being shut down  in the last year, along with firing around 300 employees in order to deal with Gala Bingo’s recent financial debts.
