Regarding Gala Bingo’s firing hundreds of employees and the closing of numerous bingo halls to deal with an enormous £2.7 billion debt, current rumors suggest that Gala Bingo is no looking for private investors to keep the company from collapsing.

However, residents in the area seem very unhappy with these plans, and have already collected 5000 signatures on a petition objecting that as an Evangelistic church is far from what they have in mind as a replacement to their neighborhood bingo club,  even though the KICC said they plan to use the club as a community center.
